Christian Education

The Education Committee is responsible for structuring and evaluating the educational programs of the church. It recruits and trains teachers for the church school, provides materials and develops curriculum to support Christian learning for all age groups. Its responsibilities include the Church School, youth programs and adult study activities.

Ministry to children and youth is one of the highest priorities of Faith Community Presbyterian Church. We have a number of programs and events to address the spiritual and religious growth of our young people.

Children's Ministry

Children's Message
A Children's Message is offered each Sunday during the first part of worship service. During the Children's Message portion of our service, the children respond to the worship service with spontaneous discussion. The children are then dismissed to their church school classes. They also participate directly in worship by sometimes leading in prayer, reading scripture and designing bulletin covers.

Volunteers must be screened prior to serving in positions involving contact with minors. Click here to download volunteer forms:

Sunday School

Child care is available during the worship service for infants through children 5 years of age. Sunday school is offered at the 10:00 AM service.

We are proud to use the "Feasting on the Word" curriculum. This exciting program has a "through the Bible" three year scope. Children of all ages study the same Bible story in age appropriate ways. Take home papers offer family activities to reinforce each lesson.

Faith Club

Would you like your children to have friendships based on Christian values and the teachings of Christ? We encourage children in Kindergarten through sixth grade to attend Faith Club on Wednesday afternoons 5:00 - 6:30 pm. Youth in grades 6-8 have a special leadership opportunity within Faith Club.

It is about equipping children to grow in a community of faith.

Worship Skills:
Psalm 95:1 says, "Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!" The first component of Faith Club is worship and praise through music instruction and learning the integral parts of the service.

Bible Study:
Children of all ages enjoy learning the word of God through fun activities and discussions.
Proverbs 3:1-2 "My son, do not forget my teachings, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you."

Faith Club participants continue to learn about the Lord and each other through crafts, games, movies, or exercises. These activities teach rules and help us to practice the lessons and skills learned during Faith Club.
1 Corinthians 9:27 "But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified."

When children attend Faith Club they will learn about GOD by having fun and worshipping with friends. Participants learn the teachings of the Lord, through Christ-centered worship activities, bible study, fellowship and recreation.

The new playground is a great place to have fun with friends after Faith Club or Sunday school.

Youth Ministry

Mid-High and Senior High Youth Groups
The Youth Group meets eveningson the second and fourth Sunday of each month. Teens in grades 7 - 12 engage in a number of activities meant to strengthen their relationship with one another and with God. They also participate in special activities each year such as an overnight lock in, serving at Everyone Eats Soup Kitchen, and other outings and mission opportunities.

Adult Education

Bible Study is held every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. Topics are chosen by the group and discussions are peer led. The small group format promotes learning about the Bible and a deeper understanding of our faith. Anyone is invited to participate and preparation is not required.
